Microdermabrasion: Your questions answered

Do microdermabrasion treatments hurt

Does it hurt? How much does it REALLY do for your skin? We answer some of the most common questions around microdermabrasion.

Targeted skin treatments such as microdermabrasion can be a great way to invest in the health of your skin – but when it comes to picking the right treatments, it’s important to do your research first.

If you’ve ever thought about getting microdermabrasion but weren’t sure whether it was really for you, we answer some of the most common questions around the treatment and what you can expect.

Do microdermabrasion treatments hurt?

At Skinsmiths, we use a microdermabrasion device with a specially shaped coarse tip to exfoliate and cleanse the skin of impurities as part of our signature Detox Treatment. The sensation will feel a little like a suction on your skin, but the treatment is non-invasive and fairly gentle, so you won’t need any downtime and can resume normal activities immediately following the treatment.

How effective is microdermabrasion to exfoliate skin?

Microdermabrasion is particularly effective for skin exfoliation, as it works to lift and cleanse away any buildup on the surface of the skin. It also stimulates circulation, giving your skin more of a refreshed look.

It’s gentle and suitable for most skin types. Plus, our treatment also includes the application of hydrating serums to help soothe and nourish the skin.

What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?

Exfoliation is important for radiant, glowing skin. It helps cleanse and clarify deeply and removes any dead skin cell buildup that could be causing skin to appear dry, flaky or dull.

By combining microdermabrasion with a thermal laser for stimulating collagen production in the skin, our signature Detox Treatment leaves you with brighter, smoother skin that’s hydrated and really glows.

Over time, you’ll notice lasting results – particularly when combined with other conditioning and more advanced treatments to support healthy skin.
